Donation Questions
For ticket donors and financial supporters.
How do I make a ticket donation?
Log on to your electronic ticket platform and transfer the tickets to Rae@kidsinseats.org. Then send a quick email to Rae with the value of the seats you donated. You will receive a donation receipt within 72 hours of your transfer.
How close to game time can I donate my tickets?
Kids in Seats asks that tickets are donated 72 hours before the event. If you missed that window, contact Rae@kidsinseats.org to see if they can still be accepted.
Can I donate a single ticket?
No. Kids in Seats does not accept single ticket donations.
Can I donate just a parking pass?
Yes. Follow the same steps used to donate tickets, and you will receive a receipt within 72 hours.
Does it have to be a sporting event ticket?
No. Kids in Seats sends kids to all sorts of ticketed experiences. Email Rae@kidsinseats.org if you have questions about an event you want to share.
What more can I do?
The ticket gets a child into the event. Kids In Seats is always looking to enhance the experience with a meal, transportation support, and/or a souvenir. You can make a financial donation through Zeffy or contact Rae@kidsinseats.org for more information.
My company has a box, suite, or luxury tickets. Can we donate those?
Yes. Kids in Seats works with banks, financial institutions, firms, and businesses that donate corporate tickets and receive a tax write-off for the value of the event. These tickets are always supervised by program staff, and donation timing can be more flexible when client meetings change or availability is day-of.
Recipient Questions
For schools, nonprofits, and member organizations.
How do I become part of Kids in Seats?
Send an email to Rae@kidsinseats.org asking about membership.
Do I need to be a nonprofit or school?
Yes. Kids in Seats partners only with verified 501(c)(3) organizations and schools.
Can my organization use tickets for fundraisers or raffles?
No. Tickets may not be used for fundraising or raffles. They are intended for reward and recognition of behavior.
Can staff or teachers attend the events?
Staff and teachers may attend as supervisors. Tickets are never to be used as staff rewards or incentives.
Do staff or teachers always have to attend events?
No. Tickets may be used to send a child, parent, mentor, or family to an event.
Can kids go unsupervised?
It can be appropriate for 16- to 18-year-olds to attend an event with a friend. It is your judgment whether to send a 16- to 18-year-old without an adult. You know your kids best.
How many tickets can I get per event?
It depends on inventory. Ticket allocations are determined per event.
How do I receive the tickets?
Tickets are transferred electronically through the event platform, such as Ticketmaster or SeatGeek.
What if my client or student does not have a smartphone?
Kids in Seats will arrange for tickets to be left at will call. A valid ID will be needed to pick up tickets.
What if I do not use all my tickets?
Groups are expected to use 100% of the tickets allocated. Failure to do so will result in an inability to claim other events for a period of time.
Is there a fee to be part of Kids in Seats?
Yes. There is an annual fee. Contact Rae@kidsinseats.org for more information.
How will my group know that tickets are available?
Your designated contact will receive an email announcing ticket availability.
How far in advance are ticket opportunities announced?
Tickets are typically announced 3 to 10 days before the event, though timing varies by donor. Occasionally, tickets are announced the same day. If that does not work for your group, there will be more events to come.
What if I have more questions?
